Silence in Evolving

This piece is inspired by the silence that comes with changing as a person and growing up. I wanted the puzzle pieces to represent the beginning foundation of our lives that we are born into. These puzzle pieces are screen printed and then I added embroidery over to tie in the colors. The yellow draped fabric is representing the journey of life. This piece of silk was dyed using shibori dying techniques. The butterflies on the bottom represent someone flourishing into their own person and the hanging butterflies represent your lost loved ones guiding you. These butterflies were also screen printed and adhered with HeatnBond.
